‘Bananas in Pyjamas’ Star B2 Dies Of COVID Complications, Rotting

SYDNEY – Beloved Australian Children’s entertainer and anthropomorphic banana B2 died early Wednesday morning in his Cuddles Avenue residence due to complications from COVID-19. The Bananas in Pyjamas star had been diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier this month.
“It’s finally time for him to go up the stairs,” said B2’s brother B1, “straight to banana heaven.”
A teddy bear close to the family who spoke on a condition of anonymity said B2 initially seemed to be recovering, but his condition took a turn for the worse. He then spent the last week ripening on the counter. Medical experts classified B2 as a high-risk individual due to his advanced state of browning.
B2 is the third former Bananas in Pyjamas star to die this year. Morgan the teddy bear died in January after a failed stuffing transplant, and shortly thereafter The Rat in a Hat was voluntarily euthanized after the hat metastasized.
A memorial service for B2 will be held Friday, after which his remains will be cremated into a loaf of bread.
